The Final Countdown!
Well we have made it to the final countdown. We have a little less then 2 weeks until Colin Matthew makes his debut. We are very excited! Needless to say the past 2 or so weeks have very interesting. I have been dealing with unbelievably huge swollen feet, no sleep because of restroom breaks and cramping in my legs, side, and back. I have been waking up at least 4 times a night. So I am tired and dealing with an over extended belly that seems stretched to the max! I went to the doctor for my 38 wk appointment. I had an ultrasound to check Colin's weight and fluid. Well, he weighs 7 lbs 13 oz, yes you read correctly! He is a big boy! The ultrasound tech said he had a big head and big belly. He looked great though, he scored a 100% on the tests that they look for on the ultrasound. She could also tell that Colin has a head of hair, so we will see how much hair and what color soon. Dr. Wallis decided that since Colin is a big boy that if he does not make his appearance by April 2, then I will be induced on April 3 early, early in the morning. There is an end in sight, hallelujah! I am so happy to know that my little man will be here by next Friday. This is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Sean and I are so pumped and ready to meet our son. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday to check growth again and then we will have a baby by Friday. We will keep everyone posted!
Percy is not going to be our baby much longer
Well most everyone knows that Percy has been our baby the past 2 1/2 years. Sean and I love this dog so much! He is a sweet and playful boy. We could watch him for hours and be entertained. Everything Percy does we think is hilarious. He is a very cooky dog with many OCD and crazy tendencies. For example, when he gets his mind set on a specific toy their is no changing his mind, he will totally ignore you and anything else (including food) until he gets that specific toy. He also obsesses over bugs and frogs that are on the back door and windows. There is no turning his attention away. Along with being OCD, Percy is a scardy cat of everything. If we bring something new into the house, he is a nervous reck, passing around and looking nervously around corners until he finally feels comfortable. Even though he is crazy, he is also very loving and loyal. He loves his mommy and knows when I get home he gets lovin and a treat, no if ands or buts about it. That is the sequence of events in the afternoons. He also loves his Daddy, even though Sean is the disciplinarian with him. He will kiss Sean until his face is soaking wet, now that is love! Needless to say our baby boy, Percy, is soon getting someone new in the house that is not going away. We are excited about introducing Percy to Colin. We know that Percy will love Colin as much as he loves us. We just have to keep the kisses to a minimum for a while! :)
So we are trying to make life easier for us with the edition of an infant into our family of 2 and a dog. Sean decided that Percy needed a doggy door so that he can let himself outside whenever he wants. I was up for anything that made life easier for us, so of course I was like great idea honey. Which it is a great idea if you have a normal dog. Our dog however is OCD and a scardy cat. So the doggy door is interesting needless to say. We are keeping the flap up to get Percy used to the idea. So Percy either sticks his head all the way out the opening and just stands there looking outside or sticks his head all the way in the opening and stands there looking inside. It is hilarious! He eventually will jump out or in but this is after 10 minutes or so of sad staring at Sean and I. Hopefully he will get the concept of doggy door soon!
